Writer, web designer, etc.; born in New York; educated in Argentina, Scotland, and South Africa; now based in London. What a pleasure it must be to receive a letter from the designer Frank Ortmann (c.f. here), if the calligraphic correspondence received by printer Martin Z. Schröder is anything to go by. (See here & here.)

Simply beautiful; I like to imagine the pleasure given to everyone involved in bringing it from Herr Ortmann to Herr Schroeder.
And that “An Herrn Doz. etc” is inimitable (except that I am going to begin imitating it immediately).
Wonderful!!!
Simply splendid, and in a style not often, in fact never used now.
Most of today’s calligraphty is neo-renaissance or neo-romanesque
Yes, this is very northern-European. You see similar lettering painted onto windows in Amsterdam.
