South Africa

I‘m afraid that blogging may be lighter than usual for the next few months, as I have gone into voluntary exile in South Africa. Internet access can be a bit tricky deep in the verdant winelands of the Western Cape, but I will certainly endeavour to send a few updates, not to mention some of the usual variety of posts (a number of which are currently cooking in the oven). It’s a rather handsome town I’m in, as this page shows.

Gasp, this town appears to have a language other than English. I know I speak for your fans throughout the world when I say that “lighter” blogging will be completely unacceptable. Just you get trickier than that tricky internet access.

Andrew;

Don’t be so coy:) Stellenbosch is a beautiful town with all the ammenadies. My wife is South African hailing from Jo’burg and I’m sure she for one would be extreamly envious to be spending time back in S.A. (Instead of the east coast of Canada during this foul weather)
We Skype her parents in S.A. on a weekly basis.

I for one though will understand if fewer blogs appear as every moment must be charished! Have fun.

Some of the nicest people in my suburb of Seattle are South Africans.

If I had the means I would rent a house in Stellensbosch and migrate to it every northern hemisphere winter. It is one of the most attractive towns in the loveliest part of the world imaginable, and, just when you thought it couldn’t get better, you discover it is surrounded by beautiful wine estates. It is a close to being in paradise as one can imagine. Very nice people too, in the main.

Andrew –

Would it be impolite to ask what you are doing in South Africa? More schooling? Working? Or just an extended holiday? If the the latter, then I am rather envious!
