Peter Milliken is the longstanding MP for Kingston, I met him almost 20 years ago while attending RMC. I well remember Milliken’s reaction to Helms-Burton, I believe he was even interviewed on 60 Minutes over it.

By the way, he’s a pretty conservative Liberal with a healthy respect for our British traditions, and what’s more he enjoys wearing the tricorn and robes. No surprise that the Conservatives would want to keep him as Speaker even with their superior numbers in the House.

Complain all you want about the lack of life in New York. It’s infinitely more lively than North Texas. *sigh*

I sometimes wonder if the booming economy and decent cost of living are acceptable trade offs.
