At the intersection of my interests in vexillology and the shared heritage of the Anglosphere, I took a stab at adapting New England's historical Red Ensign for its modern states: http://edward.oconnor.cx/2008/01/flags-of-new-england

I suspect that Switzerland, with a big white cross on its flag was influenced by its Christian heritage when it chose its flag.

The Pellican-in-Her-Piety is now the second flag/arms of civil government that I've seen with distinctly Christian symbolism. (The other is the provincial flag/arms of Galicia, in Spain, which depict the Chalice and Host surrounded by seven Cross Potents.)

Do you know of any other city/state/country arms that retain their Christian symbolism?
