I am astonished by this fact; your judgement is otherwise almost invariably sound. Is it your youth which lets you down here, I wonder, or a typically American lack of discrimination when it comes to the silver screen?
The fact is that &#039;Rome&#039; is an atrocity, badly acted and atrociously conceived. Now if you want to see the period covered in a manner akin to genius, then watch &#039;I, Claudius&#039;. The difference will amaze and enlighten you.
