Thanks again, Andrew, for offering more Ron Paul.

As a presidential candidate, he certainly is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, there is little chance of his being nominated by the Republican Party and thus, no chance at all of being "elected" president.

His solutions to Iraq and the immigration problem are, of course, basic common sense, but they are also highly unlikely to ever be put into effect.

Concerning immigration, a policy of "amnesty" will finally prevail, and we will take steady steps toward the formation of a North American Union. Among the eventual results of this: the former United States will, to a great degree, resemble what we call a "third world" country -- with a staggering number of poor, a comparatively small (and mostly powerless) middle class, and an enormously wealthy elite. An atmosphere of "public squalor/ private luxury" will be ubiquitous.
All sense of history will be lost -- certainly not taught in schools!

How's that for a "worst case" scenario? Actually, I can think of worse, involving nuclear weapons and terrorists.

*

Some days I just can't see a "positive" resolution to the massive problems faced by this country.
