As a non-Spaniard with keen interest in the history of the Civil War I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for that story of that brave pilot. Indeed, the martyrdom finds nobility in the memory of the living.

Excellent writing!

We need more of these “truths” to come out in order for most ill-informed Americans to understand Franco’s Spain was not the hell they have been told.

As an American student who lived in Franco’s Spain, from 1967 to 1973, I can attest to the order and love the majority of Spaniards had for their leader.

While life in the U.S. was all about racial hatred, cities burning with violence, hippies and drugs, Spain was a haven of tranquility and peace.

I know because I lived it! Everything else is just communist propaganda or mere ignorance.
